FUFA Women Super League champions She Corporate Women Football Club will have to fight their way past Simba Queens of Tanzania, GRFC of Djibouti and Yei joints Stars of South Sudan in Group B, in the CECAFA Zonal Regional Qualifiers for a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The development was confirmed in the draws that were conducted on Wednesday. 20th. july. 2022 at the Mohammed VI Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco.

The CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers shall involve all the champions of women league top flight football; vying for the only two slots for the region in the CAF Women’s Champions League which will be played for the second time.

She Corporate will be making their maiden appearance against Simba Queens and Yei Joint Stars who featured in the very first edition last year in Nairobi, Kenya.

Simba on that occasion finished 4th after losing a 3rd place play off to the 2020/2021 FUFA Women Super League Champions; Lady Doves while Yei Joint Stars didn’t go past the group stages.

In the other group, Group A; CBE from Ethiopia will face off with Warriors Queens from Zanzibar; Fofila PF of Burundi and AS Kigali of Rwanda.

The top two teams from each group will play in the next stage; the semi finals and eventually the final from which the winner will get their ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League Finals that will be staged in Morocco later this year.

The CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers are scheduled on Saturday. 13th. August and run up to Sunday. 28th. August. 2022 to kick off in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

In preparation for the same, She Corporate strengthened their squad on and off the pitch; hiring the services of CAF A licensed Coach, Charles Ayiekoh as Head Coach; and four additions on the pitch; bringing in Anita Namata (Uganda Martyrs Lubaga); zahara Nankya (She Mak); Joanita Ainembabazi (Rines SS) and Phoebe Banura (UCU Lady Cardinals).
