FUFA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR NON COMPLIANT LEAGUE CLUBS ON CEOs QUALIFICATIONS.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has directed that effective 1st. February. 2024, all Star Times Uganda Premier League club must have Chief Executive Officers who meet the qualifications of being in such a position and anything short of that, No club will receive funds from Uganda Premier League secretariat from the sale of the league rights without complying to this directive

According to Circular No. 117, every Club Chief Executive Officer in the Star Times Uganda Premier League was notified and required to hold a Football Administration and Management Course Level I (FAMACO II) certificate with effect from 1st. January 2024.

To effectively have everyone covered and not left behind, FUFA organized two editions of (FAMACO) Level II; targeting this class of people however as of today, only 10 CEOs out of the 16 teams in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League have attained this milestone and thus the only ones fit to meet the set qualifications.

The clubs which are now in good books with FUFA in this aspect include; BUL Football Club, KCCA Football Club, Express Football Club, NEC Football Club, Wakiso Giants Football Club, Maroons Football Club, Mbarara City Football Club, Kitara Football Club, URA Football Club and Vipers Sports Club.

In the category of those who have not yet complied with circular No. 1171 is; Sports Club Villa, Busoga United Football Club, Arua Hill Sports Club, Gaddafi Football Club, UPDF Football Club,  and Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club.

FUFA is now determined to bring the above six teams to order by directing them to immediately have qualified personnel in CEOs positions and consequently make them the principal signatories to their bank accounts through which they will receive payments from the Uganda Premier League secretariat for value attached from the sale of league rights.
