The Uganda Volleyball federation will return to polls early next year on Sunday. 31st.January. 2021 and the news reaching SPORTZ NOW MEDIA_ www.sportznow.ug is the intention of two former top federation executive members plotting a come-back to the federation they both served for two consecutive terms; 2009 to 2012 and 2013 to 2016.

Former Uganda Volleyball Federation President Sadik Nasiwu through one of his social media platforms announced that he had picked nomination forms to run for the top – most volleyball office and he is believed to be teaming up with his former Vice President in Godwin Ssenyondo.

“After personal contemplation and evaluation of the status of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in Uganda and specifically for the past four years; and after individual and institutional requests, I have decided to pick nomination forms for the position of President of Uganda Volleyball Federation come 31st. January. 2021 elective congress,” Nasiwu wrote in a statement on his face book wall.

“While leaving the federation four ago, I felt that I will never make this turn but calls in and out of volleyball have obliged me to,” he added.

“I am willing to give Volleyball and Beach Volleyball a shot like never before. I take this opportunity to thank the current Board, President and Executive for the efforts exhibited but more can still be done. We have learnt a lot from the short comings of our time and ready to adjust.”

“I will be reaching out to our delegates to share with them my dreams of volleyball and beach volleyball for the forth-coming four years and request them to vote for me and my team. We are coming with Passion, sacrifice, Vigour and dedication for the development of the game more than before,” Nasiwu noted.

The challenge ahead of Nasiwu in the elections will be convincing the electorate to give him another time as President having told them four years ago that he was serving for the very last time as president of the federation.

Nasiwu is not planning to return alone because from our reliable sources, we can confirm that he will be teaming up with Godwin Ssenyondo, his former Vice President in charge of the media who will be running for the position of General Secretary.

Nasiwu’s camp also intends to field former Old Kampala Deaf Volleyball Club player Tonny Ashaba to run for the position of First Vice President in charge of the media.

Meanwhile, the incumbent UVF President Hadija Namanda also declared her intention to run again and she says she is not afraid of running against the former President.
