TRANSFER CONFIRMED: MATHIAS KIGONYA COMPLETES MOVE TO AZAM.

Goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya has completed his move form Zambian side Forest Rangers Football Club to Tanzanian Giants Azam Football Club.

The former Uganda Cranes goal keeper has signed a two-year deal on a two year deal with an option of extension.

Kigonya’s Personal Manager Simon Wasswa said:

“Everything is done. Goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya has completed the move to Tanzania Premier League giants Azam Football Club.”

The former Bright Stars Football Club (now Soltilo Bright Stars) goal keeper arrived in Dar es salaam, Tanzania on Tuesday, 5th. January. 2021 upon his official unveiling.

Kigonya had an incredible season with Forest Ranges FC, helping them to win a CAF Champions League slot after finishing in second position in the Zambian Super League.

Kigonya started his paid ranks with Soana Football Club in 2013. In 2014, he joined Bright Stars in the Uganda Premier League. From Bright Stars, he joined Kenyan Premier League side Sofa Paka Sports Club and also had a short spell at Kakamega Football Home Boys Club from where he crossed to Zambia in January 2019.

At Azam FC, Kigonya will be in company of another Ugandan Nicolas Wakiro Wadada who joined the Tanzanian outfit form Vipers Sports Club.
