The Uganda Hockey Association has summoned players to the senior national teams; women and men to start year early preparations for the All Africa Games that are slated for August 2023.

The called up players will start weekly training sessions ahead of the games that will be hosted in Accra Ghana.

Among the players summoned for the phase 1 training sessions starting this month of August are;

Men _ Alfred Agaba, Ashraf Tumwesigye, Bosco Ochan, Brain Bayuule, Brain Ofoyimungu, Brain Okodi, Charles Ekapoion, Colline Batusa , Elivs Opoya, Emmanuel Baguma, innocent Raskara, Innocent Mbabali, James Mugisha, Jackson Musinguzi, Jerome Owori, Jordan Achaya, Jordan Mpiima, Mathias Akanyihayo, Martin Okello, Maxwell Mugisa, Moses Tushabe, Peter walusansa, RichardKaijuka, Richard Ssemwogerere, sam Mwesigwa, Shafik Byamukama, Solomon Mutalya, Stewart Kavuma and Timothy Ntumba.

Women_ Aisha Kagere, Anitah Atim, Angella Nakintu, Brenda achayo, Consolate Muber, Doreen asiimwe, Doreen Mbabazi,Hilder balondemu, Irene Nyapendi, Jolly Alimo, Joy Sserunjogi, Loretta Kansiime,Patricia Nakyanzi, Paula Kibwika, Pauline Achom,Pauline Korukundo, Peace makhoha, Lamulah Nakajjumba, Lucky Akello, Margeret Nassiwa, Naume Makila, Sandra Namusoke, Shakirah Nambooze, Sandra Namusoke, suzan Ayomirowth, Sylvia Giramiya, teddyAchiro, teapista anyango, Vero atima, Thuwaibah Kiggundu and Winnie Aloro.

Besides starting training for the All Africa Games, the summoned team will also use the same sessions to prepare for the forthcoming international games.

The training will be conducted every Tuesday and Thursday for men and women respectively at the Lugogo Hockey Grounds from 05:00pm to 07:00 pm.

The 2023 games will also double as the qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
