Villa in 5th position verses Express in 7th position on the league logo.

Saturday 19th, December, 2020 is the D-Day for the biggest and oldest football derby game in Uganda as Express Football Club host record league champions Sports Club Villa at the Betway Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Express are coming into the game with a good home performance this season; having played one game at home and won 2-1 against Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club but Wasswa Bbosa the Express Head Coach says that for his “Red Army” to manage a win against the Jogoos, his strikers must sharpen their scoring boots.

Express have been quite convincing in the three games they have played so far in the Star Times Uganda Premier League but have struggled so much in front of goal which has cost them points particularly the in their last game away to Mbarara City Football which ended in a 1 all draw.

“It has been work on the forwards to improve on our finishing because we have been missing a lot of score opportunities,” Wasswa Bbosa told Express FC website.

“The players need to calm most especially the forwards while in the opponent’s scoring areas so that we utilize our chances, score goals and win,” He added.

Like the team they are hosting, Express have also conceded in every game played so far; letting in 3 goals against Villa’s 5 goals.

However the Red Eagles have to also be defensively on guard because Villa have been sharp up front; managing to score 8 goals this season against their 4 goals.

Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Ibrahim Kayiwa and Charles Musiige are all still out nursing injuries, however, the red camp will be welcoming back Enock Walusimbi who was sent off against Onduparaka in Express’s first game in Arua.

Express FC haven’t beaten SC Villa in the last five outings with Villa wining 1-0 the last tie at Wankulukuku.

The blue camp also come into the this game with high spirits having won big in their last league game; beating KCCA FC 2-1 at home while Express only managed a 1 all draw against Mbarara City Football.
