National Kick boxer Mark Bugembe is out on his knees to solict for aid worth 30 Million Uganda Shillings to help him undergo a brain tumor surgery of an injury he suffered in 2017 during an Extra Combat Championship fight against Joseph Bonane.

Bugembe’s brain tumor was diagnosed in May 2020 at Nakasero Hospital but before it was discovered and confirmed, he had always been complaining of severe headache after training; a situation that has since worsened.

It’s upon this background that kick boxers; friends to Bugembe have started a fundraising campaign to raise money to rescue a fellow combatant.

Led by the Chairman of the Uganda Professional Kickboxing fighters, Titus Tugume and Shakey Mubiru; the kick boxers are out to see that their colleague get medical attention as soon as possible.

“We call upon everyone from individuals, the government and the entire sports fraternity to come to the aid of our brother’s life,” said Tugume.

In addition, Canadian based Sandrah Samantha, a friend to Mubiru Shakey has also come out with a crowd mobilizing fundraising drive to help cover for the bedridden Kick boxer’s medicine which is worthy 200,000 Uganda Shillings per week.

Bugembe represented Uganda at various international events winning gold and bronze medals in Egypt and Addis Ababa respectively.

He is attended to by his wife, Josephine Wanyana and his mother, Christine Nabumba.
