Balungu who can also be deployed as a Shooting Guard was at KIU Titans for three seasons before crossing to Power where he hasn’t featured in the league because the season he was meant to play didn’t happen because of the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic which put all the sporting activities on the hold.

During his time with the Titans, Balungu helped the team to play at its first ever National Basketball League Finals in 2017.

“Balungu has got range and he is a very good shooter of the ball. He proved that while with us the first time. He is obviously going to improve our shooting as a team,” KIU Titans Head Coach Brian Wathum is quoted in the press release that was issued by the club announcing the re-signing of Balungu.

“I’m glad to be back. This was the club I came to when I first came to Uganda, so it’s like home to me. I’m happy to be back to KIU,” Balungu said.

The arrival of the Congolese player is indeed a validation by club president Nasser Sserunjongi who said early this year that he has specific plans to rebuild the KIU Titans franchise by persuading established stars to join his team.

Additionally the KIU Rangers got a new addition in Moreen Atulinda ahead of the new National Basketball League season that is expected to tip-off on Friday. 2nd. April. 2021.

The power forward returns from JKL Dolphins on a two-year deal.
