CAF C COACHING COURSE TRAINEES MAXWELL OKELLO AND MUSA BASHIR OCHEN SPEAK OUT ON THEIR INSPIRATION AND EXPERIENCE GAINED SO FAR.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) through it Football Development program embarked on developing more coaches at all levels to improve on the game of football across the country through a number of capacity building program among which are the coaching courses that are aimed at equipping the local coaches at various levels with the knowledge, skills and exposure that will easy their work as the serve the game of sport.

At the start of this month, a number of local and regional coaches enrolled for a CAF C coaching course that kicked off on Monday. 4th. July. 2022 in Kampala.

www.sportznow.ug caught up with two coaches who are attending the course to talk about what inspired them to enroll for the course and this is what they shared with our reporter after day three.

Maxwell Okello.

Maxwell Okello is still an active player with Maroons Football Club.

On what inspired him ……

“The love I have for football attracted me to come and train as a CAF C coach. I love playing football and I love teaching the game as well.

On his knowledge attained so far:

“I have known that coaching is about improving a player. The knowledge I will take home and into practice must emphasise that my players must learn and get better.

“I know that after this course I will be a better coach.

On the instructors…

“The instructors are the best and I am so appreciative of how they are handling us. All their instructions emphasise that we must leave upon graduation as much better and resourceful persons to football.”

Musa Bashir Ochen.

Musa Bashir Ochen is one of the few coaches from outside Uganda _ Kenya.

On what inspired him….

“The course has a lot to offer to me as a developing coach. It is important for me to attain this qualification especially now that it is suspended back home in Kenya.

“The other inspiration is that Uganda a great place when it comes to capacity development particularly in this area o coaching so when I saw the advert, it took up the opportunity with open hands.”

On the knowledge acquired so far…

“It just day three but I believe I have taken in a lot. I am going to use the knowledge from here to improve myself as a coach.

On the instruction….

“I am getting what I expected. FUFA is good in this area and I feel they are doing a good job.

Successful participants of this course will be passed out with a CAF C coaching licence on 4th. August. 2022.
