BRIGHT STARS PART WAYS WITH BAKER MBOWA AFTER A POOR SPELL OF RESULTS.

BRIGHT STARS PART WAYS WITH BAKER MBOWA AFTER A POOR SPELL OF RESULTS.

Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club has officially let go of their Head Coach Baker Mbowa after a disappointing start to the 2021/2022 season in the Star Times Uganda Premier League.

Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club opened up this season with a 3-1 away loss to Mbarara City; lost 1-0 at home to Onduparaka Football Club and for the third time in a row, they fell 1-0 to Gaddafi Football Club.

Soltilo Bright Stars FC’s only point came from the 1-1 against KCCA Football Club.

On Wednesday. 10th. November. 2021, Soltilo Bright Stars FC passed on an official statement which read:

“Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club and Mr. Baker Mbowa have on this 10th day of November 2021 mutually agreed to part ways.

“The decision has been taken due to the results and performance not being at the level required.

“Our most sincere thanks to coach Baker who was commendable in his efforts to push the club to the next level.

“We wish Coach Baker nothing but future success.”

Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa will be taking charge of the team on an interim basis.

Mugerwa was Baker Mbowa’s assistant and has the support of the team management to serve well as a caretaker Head Coach.

Baker Mbowa had signed a 3-year contract with Soltilo Bright Stars in 2020 and last season, he helped them to finish 5th on the table of the Star Times Uganda Premier League; their best ever top finish.

His “sacking” makes him the 3rd Head Coach to be relieved of his duties; with the other being Gaddafi Football Club’s Mubarak Wamboya who was replaced by Peter Onen and Douglas Bamweyana of Wakiso Giants Football Club who gave way for his assistant Alex Gitta.
