Mulago Volleyball Club – Friends has kicked off a campaign to raise money to build a well improved volleyball training facility; The MVC – Friends Sports Hub.

This campaign aims to raise over 10 million Uganda shillings that would enable building works to begin on the first phase as soon as possible.

The club’s training facility has been designed to provide the ideal sports environment for the foundation to address local issues such as health and physical training as well as providing a facility for grassroot volleyball development, participation and events.

When complete, the MVC – Friends Sports Hub will be home to Mulago Volleyball Club – Friends.

Mulago Volleyball Club was founded in 2004 by then students of Mulago Para Medical School and some community members in and around Mulago and currently plays in Series C of the National Volleyball League.

Mulago has produced a number of players including Opolot Eric Patrick, Seif Isaac but the most notable ones being Tumukunde Jonathan, and Samadu Fred who now play for UCU Doves V.C and Nemostars V.C respectively.

Construction is expected to commence immediately as soon as the necessary funds and approvals have been attained.
