CAF WOMEN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS: SHE CORPORATE SEEK CHANGE OF FORTUNE AGAINST CBE.

Uganda’s representatives at the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers in Tanzania, She Corporate Women Football Club will be seeking a positive result in their semi final clash against Commercial Bank of Ethiopia as they bid to make it to the finals and eventually contest for the one slot for the region in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The She Corporate booked their place in the semi finals after finishing second in Group B behind Simba Queens of Tanzania thus a face-off with CBE of Ethiopia who topped Group A.

She Corporate go into this match knowing that it is this same side that knocked out Lady Doves Women Football Club; Uganda’s representatives at the last edition in Tanzania; winning the game in penalties (5-3) and thus a win over them will not only qualify them for the finals but also be a pay back of the damage they caused to fellow Ugandans in the inaugural edition.

The Uganda Super League Champions coached by Charles Lukula ayiekoh kicked off their campaign in style with a 6-0 win over Yei Joint Stars Football Club of South Sudan; scoring through Fiona Nabbuma (2), Anita Namata, Margret Namirimu, Favour Nambatya and Joanitah Ainembabazi at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dares salaam.

In game two, they lost 2-0 to Simba Queens before returning with a big 8-0 victory against and Garde Republicaine of Djibouti.

Against Garde Republicaine, the goals came through Favour Nambatya and Phiona Nabbumba who scored a hat-trick each while Joanita Ainembabazi and Jackline Nakasi had a goal each at Azam Complex.

The winner between She Corporate and CBE on Wednesday. 24th. August. 2022 will face AS Kigali of Rwanda or Simba Queens of Tanzania.
