Express Football Club have announced the signing of Mbarara University defender Benjamin Gakumba for an undisclosed fee.

The signing of Gakumba was made public through the club website _ www.expressfc.co.ug after the player putting pen to paper on a three-year contract that will keep him at the Wankulukuku side up to July 2025.

The club wrote on their website;

“We are delighted to announce the signing of centre back Benjamin Gakumba. The 19 year – old defender joined the Red eagles on a tree year contract.

“He was been part of Mbarara University Team and has featured in all the games he has been there.

“The intelligent player center back will bring calm composure to the team as he is strong in game reading.”

Speaking on his milestone move to Express FC, Gakumba a graduate of Kigezi Harambe Sports Academy said;

“It’s a great honor to be joining this mighty club, and I am grateful to God for the opportunity.

 “I thank the coach and team for giving me the opportunity. I am ready to represent the club colors and the fans should expect good performance and solid game,” Gakumba remarked.

“He is a young player, who is very talented and focused,” said Express Head Coach James Odoch.

“As I said focus is on building young players who will play for the club for a long time and Gakumba’s signing is evident to that,” he added.
