KABADDI: TEAMS IN HIGH GEAR PREPARATIONS AHEAD OF THE NATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS KABADDI CHAMPIONSHIP.

With less than a month to the National Secondary Schools Kabaddi Championship, various schools have stepped up their preparations as they get ready for the 2nd edition that is slated to take place from August 14th - 17th at Kabowa Dream Africa School.

Some of the teams are now playing build up matches as a way of fine tuning them selves.

On Friday.15th.July .2022 Kyadondo SS hosted Kololo High School boys and girls' teams but went on to lose both games to the visitors 34 - 39 and 29 - 60 respectively; many other schools are doing the same.

The 2nd edition of the National Secondary Schools Kabaddi Championship is expected to have 12 teams for men and 12 teams for women and the National Organizing Committee is doing its level best to see that the championship is successful , enjoyable and recommendable for other schools to join in the next championship.

"The National Secondary Schools Kabaddi 
Championship is key in the development of the sport structures where talent is identified and developed at national level for both  junior and senior teams," said Edgar Mujuni the KFU General Secretary.

"It's also way to grow the popularity of the sport among schools in Uganda and will be spot on as a significant active competitive school league  widening the scope of players scouting for the pro league clubs.

"We thank all the schools that have supported this sport and in a very special way, our major sponsors Dream Africa Schools.

"We shall be expecting improved performance and game understanding by the school teams," he added.

The semi finalists at the championship shall automatically  qualify for the East Africa Secondary Schools Kabaddi Championship that will be hosted in Uganda from 15th to 18th December. 2022.
