2020 AFRICAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

The 2020 African Rally Championship has finally been cancelled.

The decision to call off the championship was reached after the championship failed to meet the required percentage for events deemed for it to be complete.

This season South African, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia have all been cancelled with only one round; The Rally e Bandama in Cote d’Ivoire happening.

Rwanda, Tanzania and Zambia had earlier on rescheduled their events for some time later in the year but now this decision leaves them with no choice but also to have theirs cancelled.

 “FIA requires a championship to run fifty percent of its events to count; that is, three events can’t be the case here.

This is the first time in the history of the ARC that a season isn’t completed.
