KCCA Football Club sailed through to the Quarter Finals of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup following a 2-1 over Mbarara City Football Club on Friday. 17th. March. 2023 at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Rogers Mato and Kankonde Tshisungu Simon netted in either half to grant the Kasasiro Boys passage through to the last eight while Henry Kitegenyi scored the only goal of the day for the Ankole Lions.

Mato opened the day's account with an instinctive left-footed effort in the 2 minute before Kitegenyi equalized in the 37 minute.

In the 65 minute, Kankonde linked superbly with Allan Okello before the former brilliantly slotted in the second for KCCA FC, which was also the evening's winner.

KCCA FC have now kept their dream of a domestic double alive, as they also lead the proceedings in the Star Times Uganda Premier League.
