Uganda Crested Cranes Captain Tracy Jones Akiror has left Seminole State College team for Lindsey Wilson College “Blue Raiders” in Columbia, Kentucky in the United States of America.

The diligent defensive midfielder has been at Seminole State College for one year; a place where she had built a dynasty for herself hence earning her interest from the “Blue Raiders”.

At Seminole State College, Akiror played 22 games; scoring 16 goals and assisting in 10. This gallant performance earned her the club’s top scorers’ accolade as well as the season’s Most Valuable Award (MVP) as Seminole State College achieved the regional championship; the first one in the College’s history.

The former Kawempe Muslim S.S mid-field genius joins fellow “country man” Yudaya Nakayenze, who also surprisingly had stints at Seminole State College before moving to Lindsey Wilson College.

Akiror revealed that she is ready for the new opening and the challenges that lie ahead.

“I am always ready for new opportunity and I hope to give it my best,” Akiror revealed.

Akiror’s new College side is coached by Drew Burwash and Elisha Fry and has four NAIA National Championships to their name with the last one coming in 2014.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) championship is the annual tournament held to determine the national champions of women’s collegiate soccer in the United States and Canada.

Akiror attended Luzira Church of Uganda where her football career as a young start started and he later joined Luzira Primary before moving to St. Mary’s S.S Nkumba (‘O’level) and St. Julian High School, Gayaza (‘A’level).

She has played in various football academies and she credits Destiny Soccer academy for her success where she played with boys an attribute that ispired her to dream and push big for football.

Akiror joined Kawempe Muslim in 2014, where she rose to fame, winning the FUFA Elite League four straight seasons and it’s from here that she left for the US.
