Uganda Rugby Cranes Head Coach Brian Makalama has named his starting line-up for Sunday’s Rugby Africa Cup final Pool C encounter against Algeria; kick-off at 03:00 pm at the Kyadondo Rugby Club Grounds, Kampala.

The available players from the First Team squad are all expected to get minutes against Algeria in a closed door game that will be streamed live on the Uganda Rugby Union You Tube channel.

Asuman Mugerwa who was sat out in game one against Ghana starts at the front row while in the back-row; Kelvin Balagadde will be replaced by Mark Omoding.

Makalama expects to field a new halfback combination in the backline with Aaron Ofoywroth and Ivan Magomu; and in the midfield, Pius Ogena and Solomon Okia will team up to break the Algerians’ moves.

Okia takes over the outside center position replacing in the Justin Kimono who is injured.

Additionally, Daudi Semwami will start at the openside while Maxwell Ebonga will be played at the blindside.

Makalama does not expect the game against Algeria to be a walk in the park because they will be fighting for their lives having suffered a shocking defeat against Ghana on Wednesday in their first match against Ghana.

Algeria’s guarantee for a place at the Rugby Africa Cup 2022 knock-out stage is for them winning against Uganda.

The Rugby Cranes are already through into the Rugby Africa Cup 2022 knockout stage but would want to put up a decent show, playing to win in order to finish as Poll C group winner.
