NAM BLAZERS WILL MAKE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS, KIVIIRI.
Namuwongo Blazers were very active in the transfer market and this is what give Syrus Kiviiri confidence that the team will be able to complete strongly for a play offs finish by the end of the regural season in the FUBA National Basketball League.
The Blazers who are actually a new team in top flight basketball signed eight big names in the likes of Syrus Kiviiri himself, Michael Kojjo, Paul Odong, Emmanuel Okumu, Fahmy Sebatindira, Daniel Monoja and Derrick Katumba all in the bid to make an immediate impact in their maiden season in the National Basketball League.
“With all these signings the team has made, I believe we can push for a top position finish because all have being at this stage for some time. Our target from the start will be a playoffs finish because that’s what we are setting as our bare minimum,” Said Kiviiri.
“We are not troubled about the other teams and who they have signed. We believe we can go deep into the season and that’s all we are looking forward to come league tip-off,” a confident Kiviiri added.
Kiviiri, Sebatindira and Odongo have played together for more than four seasons at Power Basketball Club and on paper one it would make one believe that maybe their partnership might give an edge to the Blazers to rub shoulders with the likes of City Oil, UCU Cannons, JKL Dolphins, Power and Warriors.
The league tip-off was suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and the new dates are yet to be announced by the federation.
