CRICKET: UCA Officially Unveils Suraj Karavadra As The New Lady Cricket Cranes Head Coach.

The Uganda Cricket Association officially unveiled Suraj Karavadra as the new Lady Cricket Cranes head coach at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo-Kampala on 17th May 2021.

Suraj Karavadra has signed a two years contract and given at least three strong tasks of qualifying the Lady Cricket Cranes to the T20 World Cup, the Commonwealth games and to move the team’s rankings from 18th to at least 14th position.

"I am very excited to work with talented Cricketers, my passion has always been for women’s cricket, want to take the Lady Cricketers to the highest level.

Its going to be a long time process, I believe in having structures, I want to make Lady Cricket Cranes a big team in the region and in Africa”. Said Suraj Karavadra the head coach of Lady Cricket Cranes

The Uganda Cricket Association, CEO, Martin Ondeko commented on the appointment of the coach and hinted on the process they went through to get the best Coach for the Ladies.

“The recruitment process started at the end of February and 18 application come in to the office. We looked at them and came up with four people, one from India,Sri Lanka, UK and South Africa, the committee brought the name of Mr. Suraj Karavadra and said that he is best candidate for the job. He has alot of experience, there is a biggest task ahead of him, he has to take us back to the global Qualifiers, if he does that, it will be our second time, because we last went there in 2017.” said by Martin Ondeko the CEO UCA.
