Ugandan FIFA referee Chelanget Ali  Saliba is among the 23 referees who have made it to the preselection list for the forthcoming TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2023 finals to be hosted in Egypt will be picked.

Twenty three referees and twenty three assistant referees have been selected by CAF and Saliba is among those who will go through medical screening, theoretical and physical drills in their quest to make the list for the final tournament.

The TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in which Uganda will also take part will take place from 19th. February to 11th. March. 2023 in the cities of Cairo  Ismailia and Alexandria.

The twelve-nation tournament will begin with a mouth-watering opening game between hosts Egypt and Mozambique on Sunday. 19th. February. 2023.

Uganda was pooled in Group B and will have to face it off with Central African Republic, South Sudan and Congo; and all the 3 games will be played at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia.

The composition of the other groups;

Group A - Cairo International Stadium: Egypt, Mozambique, Senegal, Nigeria

Group C - Alexandria Stadium: Gambia, Tunisia, Benin, Zambia
