TOTALENERGIES CHAN 2022: CRANES HEAD COACH NAMES ATTACKING LINE-UP FOR CHAN OPENER.

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic has named an attacking oriented side to face the Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R.C) in the Cranes' Group B open on Saturday. 14th. January. 2013; in the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2022 at the
Stade 19th May 1956, Annaba, Algeria.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of the Congo clash on Friday. 13th. January. 2023, Mulutin Sredojevic said that the team is ready to bring pocket a good result.

"It is now time to deliver and do better than before.

"The players are in the right shape and we hope victory will come our way on Saturday.

“Every game in the Group in crucial but to win the first game is important."

In the starting XI, the Cranes' tactician has named the trio of Milton Karisa, Frank Ssebufu and Rogers Mato to lead the front line in hunt for the goals.

Behind them is an exciting offensive midfield pack of three; Marvin Youngman, Abdul Karim Watambala and Moses Waiswa whose sole responsibility will be to back up the front trio to get the team the necessary goal(s) and the eventual match win.

Cranes xi vs DRC

Nafian Alionzi has been given the nod to start in goal ahead of Joel Mutakubwa and the young lad; Jack Komakech.

The the defensive roles have been evenly distributed amongst; Geoffrey Wasswa and Gift Fred in Central defence while James Begisa and Derrick Ndahiro will operate on the right and left wings respectively.

The named starting XI will be backed up from the bench by another pool of talented players in the likes of Nelson Ssenkatuka, Bright Anukani, Ibrahim Orit, Kenneth Ssemakula, Moses Aliro, Titus Ssematimba, Travis Mutyaba, Issa Mubiru, Hillary Mukundane and Arshraf Mandela.

Uganda's other opponents in Group B include West African giants, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
