RAYS OF GRACE WIN SECOND SUCCESSFUL ODILO CHAMPIONSHIP

Rays Of Grace Junior School wins second consecutive ODILO CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations Primary Schools Championship climaxed on, Wednesday. 7th. September. 2022 at FUFA Technical Center-Njeru with an entertaining final match between Rays of Grace Junior School and Paorihner Primary School.

The match ended in a goalless tie in normal play which called for spot kicks.

Action thrilled up to the 4th chance when Paorihner's player failed to covert when his misile hit the goal post whereas Rays of Grace's was converted leaving opponents in prayers.

Both teams' last chances were scored leading Rays of Grace to a 5-4 victory.

There were mixed reactions as champions celebrated while the runners-up broke into tears.

The winners were eventually awarded with a trophy.

The awarding ceremony was graced by the presence of FUFA C.E.O Edgar Watson Suubi and FUFA 1st Vice president Justus Mugisha.

This was the 2nd of a kind tournament for boys with the first coming in 2019 where Rays of Grace Junior School beat Oasis Primary School then to emerge the maiden Champions.

Rays of Grace who came into this year's edition as defending champions won 2 out of 3 group stage matches and comfortably won Kibuli Islamic school, Isingiro by 2-0 in the semi finals.

This year's ODILO CHAMPIONSHIP attracted 8 schools and also featured the girls' category which was won by Bombo UMEA Primary School.
